3.Isolate Energy Sources: Disconnect and lock out all energy sources (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) with an assigned personal lock.

4.Release Stored Energy: Dissipate or restrain any residual energy. This may involve releasing tension on the film or ensuring the turntable has come to a complete stop.

5.Verify Isolation: Attempt to start the machine using the controls to confirm zero energy state. Return controls to the "off" position.

6.Perform the Task: Once the machine is verified to be safe, proceed with the maintenance or jam clearance.

7.Remove Locks: After the work is complete, remove all tools and reinstall guards. Only then can the personal lock be removed by the person who applied it.


Never, under any circumstances, attempt to clear a jam or perform maintenance without a full LOTO procedure.
